January 31st - Matt Dingledine

Matt is an active composer, teacher, and guitarist in Greenville, South Carolina. He teaches lessons for guitar, bass and music theory at Watson Wood Music.He has played guitar and banjo with the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and guitar, banjo, mandolin, and yes, even ukulele with the touring Broadway companies for Spam-A-Lot, Leagally Blonde, Chicago, and 9 to 5 the Musicial. In addition to private lessons, he also teaches guitar classes at Christ Chruch Episcopal School and for Explore the Arts program at the Fine Arts Center.Born in Baltimore, Matt grew up in Greenvile, began playing the guitar at the age of 11, and started performing professionally at 17. After graduating from the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, S.C., he attended the University of Miami on scholarship where he recieved a Bachelor of Music degree in Studio Music and Jazz Performance. After leaving Miami, he moved to Ashevill N.C. in 2004 and taught privately at the Asheville School. He moved backed to Greenville in 2006.
